Future Leaders Youth Empowerment Program

Overview:

Mechelle Cares Foundation’s Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Program will serve 10 youth from the Phoenix, Arizona area through two consecutive six-week cohorts of five participants each.

Many Phoenix-area youth—particularly those from underserved and under-resourced communities—have limited access to individualized mentorship, financial education, career exploration, leadership development, and practical entrepreneurship experiences. Mechelle Cares will address these needs through structured workshops, mentoring, hands-on activities, career exposure, financial-literacy education, and the development of personal success plans and business or community-impact concepts.

During the 12-week grant period, the program expects to:

• Enroll and serve 10 Phoenix-area youth.
• Achieve an attendance and completion rate of at least 80%.
• Increase leadership, communication, financial-literacy, and entrepreneurship knowledge among at least 80% of completing participants.
• Have every completing participant develop a written success plan.
• Have every completing participant present a business or community-impact concept.

The program will strengthen the Phoenix community by helping young people become more confident, financially informed, career-ready, and prepared to contribute as future employees, entrepreneurs, volunteers, and community leaders.
